MILWAUKEE EARNS SPLIT OF TWO GAMES AND MAINTAINS BEST RECORD IN 2002-03 MISL STANDINGS

The Milwaukee Wave continue to have the best record in the 2002-03 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) standings with an 8-2 ledger, after earning a split of two games from Nov. 15-16.

After dropping a 16:14 decision to the host Baltimore Blast (3-7) on Nov. 15, the Wave rebounded the next day and posted a convincing 20:8 victory over the visiting San Diego Sockers (5-5).

In another MISL encounter, the host Philadelphia Kixx (8-3) earned a 13:11 win over the Cleveland Force (4-4) on Nov. 16.

Next round of MISL regular season matches will feature the San Diego Sockers visiting the Philadelphia Kixx on Nov. 20. On Nov. 22, the Cleveland Force greet the Harrisburg Heat, while the following day, the Sockers travel to meet the Baltimore Blast. Rounding out the MISL action will be the Dallas Sidekicks hosting the Heat.

Baltimore Blast - Forward Tarik Walker (0 caps) notched two goals and an assist, while player/coach Sean Bowers (5 goals, 23 caps) had a tally and two assists in the 16:14 victory over Milwaukee on Nov. 15. Forward Giuliano Celenza (0 caps) added a goal and teammate Lee Tschantret (6 goals, 12 caps) had an assist, while goalkeeper Scott Hileman posted 18 saves in the win. ... Milwaukee Wave - Two goals and an assist by forward Todd Dusosky (1 goal, 5 caps) wasn't enough as Milwaukee dropped a 16:14 decision to Baltimore on Nov. 15. Forward Joe Reiniger (0 caps) notched a goal and an assist and defender Greg Howes (2 caps) added a tally, while goalkeeper Dan Green (3 caps) posted seven saves in the loss. Two goals and an assist by midfielder Johnny Torres (1 goal, 2 caps) and a tally and two assists by Howes paced Milwaukee to a 20:8 win over San Diego on Nov. 16. Reiniger, defenders Pat White (4 goals, 6 caps), Troy Dusosky (3 caps) and midfielder Leighton O'Brien (1 cap) all scored for Milwaukee, while goalkeeper Victor Nogueira (16 caps) had eight saves for the win. ... Philadelphia Kixx - Player/Coach Don D'Ambra (0 caps) scored twice and defender Pat Morris (2 goals, 2 caps) added a goal in the 13:11 win over Cleveland on Nov. 16. ... San Diego Sockers - Forward Shawn Beyer (0 caps) had a tally in the 20:8 loss to Milwaukee on Nov. 16.
