Some days ago the Italian first division club
DAF Chemi Service Montesilvano released a note in which they announced the suspension of the brazilian player Carlos Eduardo Oliveira Morgado, known in futsal as
Dudł, due to a doping case registered in the third/fourth place final of the
Brazil 2008 World Cup played between Italy and Russia. Before publishing the news we have asked FIFA to confirm the worrying news. Today the media department of FIFA confirmed us that
"an investigation for an anti-doping rule violation has been launched by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee against the player Carlos Eduardo Oliveira Morgado and that the relevant authority is currently looking into this matter".
In the mentioned note
Montesilvano management told to be absolutely unaware of the facts, as the italian national team player left Italy on past May and came back in Montesilvano just on October 23rd. The italian side will therefore wait for the detailed medical certificate in order to release a definitive commentary on the doping file opened by FIFA.
On the other hand, in declarations given to the web portal
Calcio a 5 Anteprima, the italian national team doctor
Walter Sacco told to be absolutely sure on the fact that no azzurri players may have used certain doping materials, as proved by the other negative cases registered after doping controls. There are no details on the kind of material indicated as doping for Dudł.
If both versions are true, and above all if FIFA will confirm the doping case and the consequent suspension, the only guilty for that would obviously be... the player.
