Gulf Daily NewsHamad Town rout Al Khalil to bag Futsal soccer titleHAMAD Town defeated hosts Al Khalil bin Ahmed 3-0 and clinched the first Al Khalil Futsal Soccer Tournament.
The event was organised by Al Khalil bin Ahmed Intermediate Boys School for the first time on the occasion of Bahrain's National Day celebrations and His Majesty King Hamad's accession to the throne.
It was sponsored by Ahmed Sharif Furniture and held at the school premises with seven schools - Al Khalil bin Ahmed, Al Farabi, A'ali, Hamad Town, Al Zallaq, Al Ghazali and Jidhafs - in the fray.
The victors are coached by Mohammed Al Mutawa who is a physical education teacher at the school.
AwardRunners-up were Al Khalil bin Ahmed team under their coach Saeed Abbas Hassan while Al Ghazali School, coached by Hussain Abdulamir, finished third overall.
Salman Khalifa of Hamad Town School was presented with top scorer award for scoring five goals in the tournament.
Madhaher Abdulzahra, also from Al Khalil bin Ahmed School, took the best player trophy while Mohammed Salman of Al Khalil bin Ahmed School was the best goalkeeper.
The final and the awarding ceremony was attended by Al Khalil bin Ahmed School headmaster Abdulamir Mirza Al A'ali who honoured the winners.
Al A'ali also presented commemorative gifts to Al Khalil bin Ahmed School's physical education department and Omran Al Nejdawi from Ahmed Sharif Furniture.
The event was organised by the school's sports office members - Saeed Abbas, Mohammed Abbas, Ibrahim Abdulwahab and headmaster Al A'ali.
