UEFA Futsal Cup holders MFK Viz-Sinara Ekaterinburg of Russia will host the 2008/09 final four event in the last weekend of April.
Eastern tripEkaterinburg, a city of 1.3 million people to the east of the Ural mountain range, will be the third location to stage the event since the last four of the competition was revamped into a one-venue tournament in 2007. The city follows in the footsteps of Murcia and Moscow, where Viz-Sinara took the title on their first entry this spring. The event will be held at the 5,500-capacity Ekaterinburg Palace of Sport.
ContendersViz-Sinara will be joined in the finals by MFK Dinamo Moskva, who missed out on claiming the trophy on home territory in 2007/08, Kairat Almaty – Ekaterinburg's conquerors in last season's semi-finals – and two-time winners Interviú Madrid. The semi-final draw is scheduled for early March, and the last-four ties will be played two days prior to the final and third-place play-off.
