NIC soccer programs to lead indoor soccer tournament

The North Idaho College men’s and women’s soccer teams and coaching staff will host an indoor soccer tournament Jan. 17-18 in NIC’s Christianson Gym.
The NIC Futsal Festival will be open to boys’ and girls’ teams in the U-11 and U-12 age groups. There is a maximum of 10 players per team.

Tournament play for each age group’s bracket will be completed in one day. U-11 and U-12 boys will play Saturday, Jan. 17 and U-11 and U-12 girls will play Sunday, Jan. 18.

Futsal is a type of indoor soccer that originated in Brazil and is ideal for small indoor spaces and skill development. The fast-paced game features five players on the field at one time, including a goalkeeper and unlimited substitutions.

Cost is $100 per team and space is limited. First and second place winners in each bracket will receive medals.
