Hilary SebastianKUALA LUMPUR, Dec 13 (Bernama) -- Thailand will be Malaysia's main obstacles in the 14th Asean University Games futsal tournament at the Panasonic Sports Complex, Shah Alam, starting Tuesday.
"We are confident of beating Brunei and Indonesia, but we will face a stiff challenge from Thailand," said Malaysian team manager Rais Dermawan Kamrudin.
Only four teams are taking part in AUG futsal - Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei and hosts Malaysia.
The top two teams in the round robin preliminary round will slug it out in the final while the other two teams will vie for the bronze medal.
Rais, who expects Malaysia to meet Thailand in the final, said both teams were evenly matched in terms of skills, stamina and creativity.

Dec 18 (Thurs) (preliminary round) (1) Indonesia vs Brunei (10.30am), (2) Malaysia vs Thailand (4pm).
Dec 19 (Fri) third and fourth placing match (3.30pm).
Dec 20 (Sat) final (10.30am)
